Five Spice Fried Ribs

Mother nature has been interfering with my outdoor cooking for the last two weeks. lol
I finally had the chance to fire up the Memphis this week.

I usually make these in my kitchen but decided to use the Pro. I seasoned the ribs with Chinese five spice and placed them in the Pro. (with the usual spam)

Made my five spice salt (1TBS five spice powder and 5TBS salt)
made a marinade using..
5 whole star anise (you can use 1 tsp anise seed)
3 TBS sherry
3 TBS soy
1 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
some scallions
minced fresh ginger ( about 1 TBS)
After placing the mixture in a measuring cup, I added enough water to bring it up to 2 cups

After the ribs smoked for 2 hours I made a foil pouch and placed the ribs in meat side down...then topped with the marinade.

back in the smoker with some rice (with chicken stock) for my fried rice

after about 2 more hours I checked for pull back on the ribs

I cut the ribs, rolled in corn starch and gave them a quick fry.. just until lightly crisp

I sprinkled the fried ribs with the five spice salt and made some smokey fried rice to go with them.

They were kinda tasty!

Thank you Rip, Bflodan and Deb! :)
I use a Kodak Easy Share...it's kind of a point and click camera. lol
I know nothing about photography but would love to learn some day. (if I didn't have so much other stuff keeping me busy) :)
