I was so excited!! I received some Big Poppa seasoning (Thank you BP and Jessie!!) and I found some tri tip!
Now I get to see what the rest of you have been talking about.

made some potatoes, onions, garlic and butter...topped the Hasty Bake Greek Seasoning
(I saw Carter's potatoes the other day, thanks for the inspiration Carter!)

I brought the tri tip up to 137, then covered with foil and let it rest for about 25minutes...

I was worried that it would be over cooked but it was still pink and moist. I didn't notice until later that I was slicing with the grain instead of against... so I changed my direction.

topped the grilled leek with a splash of balsamic vinegar, smoked cheese and crisp bacon
(recipe from smoking friend Ableman)

drizzled the tri tip with the drippings..

It was sooooo tasty, tender and moist. I loved the Double Secret Steak Rub!!
In my excitement, I forgot to add a packet of pellets to the Hasy Bake.

Absolutely love the tri tip....and the BP Steak Rub.

Thanks for taking a look at my first attempt at tri tip!
