We're under a heat advisory here.. And we're having our 4th of July bash a couple days early.. Let's get it on!

We'll check back in the morning on the butts. Everything else is stuffed into the fridge.

Ribs/chicken/burgers/brats are on deck for tomorrow..

15 pounds of chicken pieces/parts, going for a morning soak.

The marinade was equal parts spray butter and garlic infused EVOO (as in a bottle of each), then a 1/3rd part lemon juice, a handful of sea salt and garlic powder, and then a healthy shake (or 12) of Hasty Bake Greek seasoning. Stir it all up at room temperature and dump it in.

I've also got 4 packages of brats (2 butcher shop homemade and 2 from Schnuck's) soaking in a couple cans of beer.


Time to start prepping the ribs..

Just running the Traeger on 'smoke' for a while. It's still reaching 200° in the sun.


I've got 3 hours to kill now, then I'll put the spurs to the ribs. Time to make a beer/ice (ice and more ice) run in a bit.

Thanks! It was a good time, everyone went home with bags of leftovers. That was one of the hottest 4th of July parties we've ever had..

11AM in the MAK. I hadn't even turned it on yet.
