Looking for ways to use the new MAK griddle and came across BP's post for cooking a steak on the griddle. I did not experiment, just followed his direction (just pulled at 135°F instead of 130°F due to lack of attention).
First, coated with Annie's Roasted Garlic EVOO and BP's double secret steak rub.
Smoked at 260°F until IT of 110°F, then flipped. Continued to smoke at 260°F until IT reached 135°F, then to the warming box. Cranked up the MAK to 400°F. Once at temp, put the rib eye on the griddle for 2 min/side. Cooked some asparagus during this step:
Plated up with some home grown tomatoes, onions, and bell pepper:
This steak was excellent. More done than I prefer, but perfect for my daughter!
