Italian beef

After seeing Deb's Italian beef I had to try it. I've always done it in a crock pot before today.

I started by sprinkling some Italian seasonings on the roast. Next I mixed two packages of dry Italian Salad dressing mix into a can of beef broth and a little water with chopped garlic, pepperchini's and salt and pepper. Onto the MAK at 225 until the roast hits 130 then into the fridge it will go. I have French bread and smoked provolone I smoked back in November that should go very well with this.

Stay tuned!

I just pulled the roast out to cool in the fridge. I'll slice it up tomorrow and add the broth to cook some more.

I didn't taste the meat but the broth is outstanding!

It wasn't bad! I put some smoked provolone on the top side and used the broiler to toast the bun. Layered some juices down then some meat. Of course we had to add some peppers too. Next time I try this I'll use more seasoning. The smokiness of cooking it on the MAK overpowered the Italian seasoning I think.

Thanks Deb for the idea!
