Puka Dog inspired hot dogs

The wife and I while in Honolulu last week went to a Hawaiian hot dog joint called Puka Dog. Puka in hawaiian means " hole". It's basically just a hot dog but instead of slicing the bun down the side they poke a hole from the end of the bun and toast it from the inside. There I had a habanero, garlic, mango , lemon sauce with it. It rocked! So today we thought we would make our own version with what we had on hand.

First I grilled some Nathans hot dogs,
We like a little char on our dogs here.

While those were cook'n on the gasser I made some relish from some home made habanero mustard
I picked up from the local amish and some jalapeño's.

Take your bun and cut out a hole from the end.

Put you condiments down the hole and put in your dog!
