I have MAK 2-Star serial number #85 which I bought through BPS in April 2010...
I have 3 probes - 2 which I bought with my unit are the initial standard probes, and a MAK M2 probe, which I bought in January 2012 from BPS.
I smoked three pork shoulders last weekend. My problem was that each probe was significantly different in temp reading during the entire cook - the two standard probes had about a 10-15 ' differential between them (as long as I have used these probes, there has always been a slight difference of 7-10'F between the two.) But what was odd is that the brand new, never used M2 probe was 20'F-30'F higher than the other two probes during the entire cook.
Is there anything that needs to be set in the Pellet Boss controller for the M2 to read properly? Or could it be I received a out of wack probe?
Is there any type of calibration that I can do with all of the probes to get them to read more consistently and accurately?
