MAK Griddle

Well, today I got perhaps the one and only MAK accessory I was missing - the griddle. Like all MAK accessories, it is a beautiful piece of work.

The question though is this - What should I cook on it first? I have a Sizzle-Q so I have done the whole breakfast thing, even did Panko breaded Tilapia fillets. Truth be told, my boys LOVE pancakes on the MAK, and we'll probably have that for breakfast. But then what?

Anyone out there with a griddle have any suggestions? The more creative the better. Need to convince the wife that my non-stop addition to my MAK collection is a good thing!

I think a hay stack would be what I cook first!
Ham steak
Biscuits
Hashbrowns
Sausage Gravy
Over easy eggs
In that order :D

The MAK griddle rocks!

It works great for making sauces, chili, Sausage Gravy, etc. We just made hot dog chili/coney sauce in ours.

Great for frying up taters, veggies & such.

Don't forget, with some common sense you can use it as a shallow oil fryer (1/8" oil is what I use) for things like chicken fried steak, etc. Cover the flame zone (or use the regular drip pan) and don't let it get too hot. Again COMMON SENSE should rule!!!

I am un impressed with the quality for a $150 item. Can someone talk me off the ledge?

It looks pretty good to me. I'm about to pull the trigger on one for my 2016 1 Star. My only concern is whether it stays hot enough on the 1 Star since it won't be placed over a Flame Zone.

The griddle is, in my opinion, the most underrated accessory for the MAK grills, and they work absolutely fine on a 1 Star without a FlameZone!

Here are some pics of ours in use with the stock blank grease tray:

It takes a little longer to heat up over the blank grease tray, but as you can see it stays plenty hot enough.

It's a heavy duty griddle, and I think they're worth every penny. Trust me, get one and you won't regret it! :)
