It's been awhile, so we are really excited to be cooking at a comp again. This one was originally going to be a dual comp, but was changed to to single. 15k up for grabs. Hope there's no cobwebs in our bag of tricks.
We had a great time, what a perfect place to host a comp. We we set up next to a horse pasture, my son Jake said one of them liked BBQ sauce. Several top teams made the trip out for this one which made it a lot of fun. 17th overall, 2 calls (3rd chix, 10th Brisket). We really learned a lot this cook, and honestly thought it was one of our best cooks ever in our very short career. Well you know how that thought we did good goes, we got a DFL in pork (our first and hopefully our last). Ribs seemed right to us, we did get 2 comment cards on ribs which you'd think would be helpful. One said their sample was over done, the other said it was under cooked? Well we can't wait to get back out there and do it again. Heres some pics. Thanks for looking.
It was great to be 60 mins from a comp, makes for a little R and R.
Yes horses do like BBQ.
Jakes first contest. Making some killer burnt ends.
