Smoked Bourbon/Maple Turkey

Having Thanksgiving today cuz we have family that has to work on T-Day

Got my bourbon/maple turkey going in my MAK this morning. Have Pecan smoking @350 for 2 hours then to smoke setting for 2.5 hours.

Stuffed the cavity with sliced carrots, celery & onions. The neck cavity is stuffed with a whole lemon punctured with a fork. Rubbed MAK Bird rub on the bird ;)

Love the prep and brine....I dont use rubs with paprika on turkey..Im interested to see how that works....With you Rick I m sure it will be a home run.

The turkey is at 2 hours now. I injected both sides with butter and coated. Flipped 180* and now getting 2.5 hours of smoke.

Now that's one beautiful looking bird, absolutely gorgeous! I believe I may have smelled it cooking over here in Ohio.

you missed your grandson in the picture of your daughter & granddaughter - he snuck in the side - I bet he's zooming all over the place.

Very nice indeed, were you able to taste the lemon?
I use that Bird rub all the time along with the Chipotle, I love it!
