Festival Acorn Squash with Savory Mustard Glazed Strip Steaks

Two weeks ago, while on a weekend trip celebrating our 20th anniversary, the wife and I stopped at an Amish farm market where we spotted these beauties:

A bin full of Festival Acorn Squash.


Oh yeah, these will be good on the grill!





Brown Mustard - Rosemary, Salt & Course Pepper




Praline filling for the Squash: Brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg & chopped pecans.






Yum!

Nice job man! I've never seen anyone eat those squash before. Around here I've just seen them for decorating during the holidays.

Saw this on an earlier post from ya and had to try. Turned out great. On the fav list now. Thanks for the idea.

The Amish girl at the market said a lot of folks buy them for decoration not knowing they're edible just like regular Acorn squash.

These were only 2/75¢ and I wish we'd gotten more. We also got a head of cabbage the size of a basketball (no joke) for $1!
