I am looking for feedback on the new Mak Searing Grate.
What has been your experience? Does the grate just make sear marks or does it actually increase the cooking temperature? Any other thoughts pro or con?
It does a great job of searing and putting grill marks on the food, it is all aluminum and impregnated with teflon so it transfers heat better than the standard grate. I think it works well for grilling especially over the flame zone.
Pros- it was designed by MAK to work with your grill and it works extremely well to give you grilled food. The non stick surface is awesome, I have done fish on it and it never sticks.
Cons- with the teflon it cannot be cleaned with a wire grill brush but this is not really a big deal, I clean it with a blue Scotch Brite pad and it cleans up easily.
My son does and it is one of his favorites, it was an interesting evening when my BBQ interests and his music passion combined, and I mentioned to him that this guy from whom I purchased my Mak grill posts BBQ videos with a room full of guitars. Check out his website at http://www.pelletsmoking.com/mak-ce...r-searing-grate-585/www.infidelinc.com....and his new pro-American album "Deviation Texas" coming soon... partly inspired by his brothers 2 tours in Iraq.
