Welcome to the first Cook This Challenge. Let’s hope we all have a little fun with this. You have read the guidelines so let’s get it on!
This is one of my favorite dish’s in this style of cooking. I feel there are areas with the meat, seafood and vegetables that can be improved on a smoker. It is up to you to make it happen and make this dish your own. It will be easy enough to find the basic recipe. So in the words of my grandfather.... Get’er done!
And the dish is…..drum roll please……

That’s right..Mongolian Beef and Shrimp Fried Rice. Can’t recall any Chinese food being cooked here. Please show how you changed the recipe from the original and let us know how you thought it came out .Good luck and can’t wait to see what you do with this.
PS I know I’m evil and by the way this was delivery!

Rick, First I want to say a huge, "Thank You," for the whole idea for this section!
Now... Mongolian Beef. Hmmm... this will be an extra challenge for me since I'm suppose to avoid soy sauce. You better believe I will figure out something! ;)

I have no doubt that Rick had already come up with some great ideas before he even posted the challenge.
I've been giving this a lot of thought and plan to give it a try this weekend. I think I've even got a soy sauce substitute figured out.

Sorry the guidelines says the challanger does not cook the dish. We may need to tweak those a bit.

Wneill20 you rocked it dude! Looks great and you seemed to have stayed true to the original dish. I would have had to dock you a point as I didn't see any fried rice noodles but would have gave 2 back for adding in the potsticker and Chinese veggies. Would take a plate of that anytime. Thanks for giving it a try and job well done!

Man O Man what you can learn on this site. I have never seen a “Sizzle Q” and never would have thought of removing the deflector plate.
Great job on the cook and it looks fantastic.

Sorry the guidelines says the challanger does not cook the dish. We may need to tweak those a bit.
That's when initially posting the challenge ONLY. The guidelines also say, "Of course the challenger can always come back later and add his or her version."
No way do we want to exclude anyone, including the challenger, from taking up the challenge once issued. Since this challenge has been issued and taken up, by all means please take up the challenge yourself.
Rick, I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one who wants to what you do with it too!
Remember they're are "guidelines" to help keep the challenge on track; not hard fast rules.
P.S. Rick, if something needs to be tweaked for clarification, that's no problem at all! (sending you a PM).

Looks outstanding Scallywag, I like the way you smoke the meat instead of the traditional frying and the sesame seeds took over the top. Great job I would take a plate or two of that anytime.

Great adaptation Rick! Skewering & grilling the shrimp was a great twist to the fried rice that I hadn't even considered.
