Feed a Cold, Smoke some Poultry..

I'm home today with a bit of a head cold... It's been going around the office for 2 weeks now.
So, I was rummaging in the freezer for some smoked chicken or turkey to heat up.. Nothing.

I did find a post Thanksgiving bone-in turkey breast in the freezer, so I made a quick run to the IGA for another one (still < $2/lb), and a yard bird.

Turkeys are mostly frozen, but the chicken was thawed. Going for a combination of smoke and steam, as we'll just shred/chop them up later. I'll save the bones as well, as I am out of stock.

Just a little CT and Jan's to make them pretty.

Turkey and/or Chicken Cupcakes for dinner!

Oh, and I'm trying out another new toy as well. A gently used Pentax K200D. Merry Christmas to me..

And here they come rolling in..

The smaller turkey breast finished the same time as the chicken.

The other turkey (7 pounds) is a few degrees behind. It was still pretty frozen when I put it in.

A few glugs of water and they are foiled up and resting in coolers. I've got the pan drippings reducing a bit on the Traeger, while I figure out what to do with them.

And here is the last straggler..
