first cook

Getting my new mak 2 star the end of the week. Could i get any suggestion of what to make on my first cook. something not too hard since its my first time using a smoker but still want something really good to make me feel like its money well spend.
maybe a recipe would be helpful too

My first cook was a pork butt. Nearly a 100% guarantee of success with pork butt! Ribs are good also as is chicken.

I'd vote for ribs, but that's just me. Actually, what I've been doing most lately are steaks dusted with BPS Steak Rub using the grilling grate over the flame zone. Better than any steak I've had in a restaurant!
 
I vote for ribs. I believe butts are easier to do right, but ribs will show you it was money well spent. Watch bptv to see how to do it and get good results. You can do pork butt on anything and get it right. You want to find out why you bought a two star!
