My son came home from college a couple weeks ago and immediately started talking about a giant meatball that he & his friends were going to make..... today was the day ..... they took over my kitchen and this is what they came up with...........

they started out with about 5lbs of ground beef, added oatmeal, some eggs, milk, a bunch of herbs and mixed it all up. then they started the base of the "meatball"

they took a lb. of pasta, a jar of sauce , some grated parmesan and a lb. of diced mozzarella & mixed together and put into meatball

plopped a top piece on

shaped a bit more

and into the Traeger (his second cook on the Traeger)

then they poured some more sauce on the top & cheese, into the oven for a few minutes

Was the pasta cooked first? That looks like fun and would make a great side for a big get together.

Deb, I about fell out of my chair looking at that - Talk about comfort food... Yum-eeeeee!

I may try a twist on this using Italian sausage.

Basically it proves that whatever sequence of a dish you use the pellet cooker make sit good

When my oldest (Kaylin) saw this she said "That looks like my Monster Burger!" At a Kids' Q 2 years ago, that is what she made with 2 lbs of hamburger and filled it with cheese. She didn't score very well, but had a blast making it and it tasted really good.
