Man O Man what you can learn on this site. I have never seen a “Sizzle Q” and never would have thought of removing the deflector plate.
Great job on the cook and it looks fantastic.

I love a challenge!! Mongolian BBQ Beef..

    Started with this..
    Cut up....
Marinated in the vacuum marinator for an hour with this stuff..
Gonna toast some sesame seeds while the beef is cooking..
Smoked for 30 mins and bumped to 275 for 45 mins...
Its cold here... we got a tiny bit of snow!
Made some rice noodles.. added some green onions and broccoli..quick fry in a hot pan with peanut oil..
    Beef is done!
Plated and ready to eat! Had some store bought shrimp lollipops to go with it..

Yup.. It was a good as it looks!!!!

Mine's not going to happen tonight as I hoped. But now after seeing the ones posted I can't wait!

Looks outstanding Scallywag, I like the way you smoke the meat instead of the traditional frying and the sesame seeds took over the top. Great job I would take a plate or two of that anytime.
If I am not smoking meat then it will be a cigar,

Ok I made the challange so I cooked the dish. here we go.

Mongolian Beef and Shrimp Fried Rice

Bought a half beef tenderloin and cut a couple of steaks

Had to work today so up at 4am put these on with the tube smoker only. Temps were in the 30ís so let them ride for 3 hours.

Wrapped and into the fridge. Off to work.

Later today time to cook. Get the shrimp ready

Get the carrots blanched and ready to go. Then the Shoots

Lets get the sauce going. The players

    All done

    Smoke some Veg

    Done

    Cook some rice

    Slice the beef

Dust with corn starch and let rest

    Fry the rice noodles

Ok everything prepped lets cook. Mak on high

Rice first. Shoots, peas, carrots and onions. Add some soy sauce and we are good.

    Cook the shrimp

Ok getting tired of typing. Fry the meat. Add the sauce and veg.
