Just got my first smoker for my bday

Hello fellow smokers. I just got and assembled my first smoker, a trailmaster pellet smoker. Any tips and tricks for a Newb would be great appreciated. What do you guys suggest for my first smoke? What's the best way to season my new smoker? I've done some reading and would like to know what the pros recommend. Thx for the help....

Welcome to PS.com Trey! This should get you rolling fairly quickly.

What's the best way to season your smoker? Start cooking with it and it will get seasoned.
As for what to cook first? It doesn't matter, pork butt, ribs, tritip, bacon etc. Just get going, take lots of notes and keep them in a log and take lots of pictures to show us what you're cooking in your backyard.

    Thx BP and everyone else

I plan on getting some ribs and butt going today. I'll send pics and results when I'm done.

Congratulations on your new smoker Trey and welcome to the forum. This addiction of ours is fun, relaxing, and taste good also, however, don't fuss, fret, or get frustrated. Keep it all in prospective. When I first started my dog gained 15lbs and my neighbors dog gained 10lbs. I wish you the best of luck and good smoking.
