Hey Ya'll,

The new 2015 MAK 2 Star is up on our site and should be ready to ship out after Memorial Day Weekend. The demand is super high on these right now and the queue just keeps getting longer!

You can order the 2015 MAK 2 Star here: https://www.bigpoppasmokers.com/2012-mak-2-star-general-1108

The MAK is also available on BP's Layaway Plan, and Free Standard Delivery is included (we do recommend upgrading to the $75 lift gate service if you can't take it off of the truck yourself).

Feel free to give us a call here at the office if you have any questions: 877-828-0727,
For those of you who don't like to talk on the phone, email us at: [email protected]

Here are some of the upgrades (info straight from MAK):

˜Redesigned exhaust system.

˜New slide-in upper grate (like 3 & 4 Star Grills) eliminating the need for “legs”. Load your food on the upper grate and simply slide the rack into place.

˜Redesigned grease drain system, replaces the grease bucket with an internal 2 qt. grease drawer.

˜Redesigned ash clean out just like the 1 Star (internal vs. external)

˜Redesigned tool hook to help keep the tools from coming off in windy weather.

˜New software on the Pellet Boss® controller allows for faster ignition especially in colder weather.

˜New Pellet Boss® with an LCD display that’s easier to read from the top down.

˜Web control for Wi-Fi is automatically “on” when installed. Eliminates having to manually select web control screen.

˜Even more control with the new on/off/auto function for all components. This allows easier service and maintenance.

˜Extended the hopper further from the barbecue body to keep the side closest to the barbecue cooler when cooking at hotter temperatures.

˜The fan/access panel easier to remove.

˜Larger fan panel screws make it easier to remove using a hex wrench.

˜The auger motor now has a detachable motor bracket to make it easier to remove for repair of an auger jam.

˜The auger tube has been redesigned to make it easier to slide the firepot into place.

˜The Warmer/Smoker Box lid has been redesigned for easier removal to accommodate the Super Smoker Box.

˜New automatic auger stop. The auger is interrupted whenever the pellet hopper lid is opened. Safety is a big selling point for pellet grills over gas and charcoal.

That is exciting to see these changes. Trust me when I say the new grease/ash drawer makes cleanup even easier than ever.

Everyone is really reacting well to the upgrades in the design. We suggest ordering now so you don't have to wait even longer! MAK is shipping all orders first come, first serve!

Right now the lead time is 12-14 business days on MAK 2 stars, and since you're in the queue you'll get yours sooner than anyone ordering after you. MAK has been working as hard as they can to keep up with demand, and everyone has been really patient and understanding! Thanks for your business!

Hey Ya'll,

MAK is building grills as fast as they can, but there is still a back log of orders. If you place your order today, it could be 3-4 weeks before your MAK ships, so please keep that in mind. We have updated our site to state 13-18 business days for shipment, but it could be longer depending on demand (or sooner, best case scenario).

The quickest way to get a MAK 2 star is by getting your order placed and in the queue for fulfillment/shipment. It will be worth the wait!

Thanks again to all of our customers who have been patiently waiting for their grills. MAK is working as hard as they can to make sure everyone is happy. Extra kudos to Katrina, our MAK rep, for keeping us up to date on everything!

Just out of curiosity has anyone tested how the change in exhaust vents has affected temperatures at the grate? I've got on order an aluminum elbow to effectively drop the exhaust by a few inches in my Rec Tec as testing has shown that you get a more consistent temp across the length of the grate that way instead of it being higher on one side than the other.
