Hello. My name is Nashville Smoke and I'm a pellet smoker.

Help. I have a Char Griller pellet grill and it works great for low temp slow smoking.
When I tried turning it up for regular grilling, I couldn't get the temp higher than 310 F
Everything I've read says that these pellet grills can be used to grill things like chicken and also bake.
What might I be doing wrong?

First, welcome to the forum!

You might not be doing anything wrong.

What kind of pellets are you using? If they're alder-based, then try some oak-based pellets as they have a higher BTU rating. Make sure your pellets stay absolutely dry too.

If a different brand of pellets doesn't help, then I'd give a call to Char-Griller's tech support. There could be an issue with the grill.

Keep us posted on how this turns out!
