Storing/moving my 2 star in a "POD" for 5 months. Storage will be climate controlled. Spoke with the folks at MAK and they suggested removing smoker box and a thorough cleaning. I was thinking about crating the grill. Anyone tried that? Or any other suggestions for long term storage? Thanks.

Definitely remember to remove ALL the pellets from the grill before you lock her up! Empty out the hopper AND burn through all the pellets that are in the auger tube. Even in climate controlled storage, it's possible for pellets to absorb ambient moisture in the air, and you don't want to risk having an auger jam when you pull it out and try to BBQ for the first time next year!

Just make sure you burn off at a high temperature, you don't want it to get Moldy
