Avocado Oil

Other than cost, is there any disadvantage to using avocado oil for grilling and frying? With a 500 degree smoke point it seems like a good option.

SOry Sax I dont know I had some really cool avocado oil with lemon made on an organic farm here IT was killer for drizzling and salads and stuff I have never fried with it

Avocado oil would be good for frying but virgin Avocado oil has a lower smoke point closer to 400 degrees

Not only have I never tried it but at 55 I've never even heard of it before. Oh sure I know there's oil in avocados but have never heard of it being bottled. Guess I need to get out more!

I have some avocado oil w chili and I love cooking with it. Only used it once on the smoker, on veggies.

I like avocado oil, but expensive. My new favorite high temp oil is grape seed oil. It cost similar to a decent olive oil. Very little taste and great to fry with.

I saw some last week at the local costco i may have to try it as a marinade.
