Best plant selection for a windbreak?

Design of my yard dictates that where I need to put my built in will result in the smoke being blown across the patio on an average day. I need to design a windbreak to get the smoke high enough that the wind can carry most of it over the patio - which is about 50' wide. Any suggestions?

you know that the four star exhausts out the back....Seriously I would give it a try and then design a windbreak...allow for it in your planning buyt it may not be necessary

Will there be an exhaust hood suspended above the grill? Once I left mine off accidentally while starting up the grill. Trust me when I say, that you will want a hood. If you are a fireman and have access to those masks with oxygen tanks maybe you can get by without a hood. High CFM externally mounted fan is suggested for hood.
