Challenging removal of hot grill

My very first cook on my Mak 1 was awesome. We used the flame zone kit, I do have one concern though, while using the flame zone and my food on the top grill we found it difficult to remove the top grill to get to the flame zone covers... Are we doing something wrong? Loving our Mak1 ...

You would need to set up the FZ cover configuration you want before starting the grill.
You can use a spatula to slide them around but the design is to not remove them when the grill is hot.
