Hi all! New to the forum and new to pellet smoking. Actually waiting for my first order of pellets to arrive in the mail. I can't seem to find any local places to buy pellets from. I've been smoking for almost 10 years now but I have always used wood chunks or chips to get the job done. It wasn't until last week when I started browsing the web for info on cold smoking and discovered there are a lot of people that use pellets. So here I am ready to give it a go. Hope to learn a few tricks from fellow members.

Welcome to the forum. I can personally attest to how well pellets work for cold smoking. They're very easy to control and give a lot of smoke flavor. Tell us more about your setup.

Sad to say but I don't have much of a setup.

Char-broil RED 3-Burner infrared gas grill and a Smokey Mountain 16"x34" gas smoker. I play around with my 12" lodge (deep) dutch oven from time to time and my Volcano grill....I usually take both of these when I go camping.

I see a lot of people on here own MAK grills.

How long does a 20# bag of pellets last in a MAK with a nominal temp of 350 degrees?
