I see across the country that things are heading towards the dreaded winter....

How is it affecting you and do you change what you cook in the cooler months?

The past few weeks have been very rainy & cool around here. The last few Friday night football games have been miserable. That kind of weather puts a kibosh on cooking more than snow. The past couple days have been gorgeous Fall days though, and I got 12 lbs. of bacon smoked last evening! :)

I'm tired of setting up the easy up for inclement weather, so this year we're finally running electricity to our detached garage & working on a small pavilion next to it to give me a place to cook when it's raining, snowing, etc. It'll be nice to have for sure!

In the cooler months we tend to shift towards more comfort food and stuff that needs less attending while on the grill.

Its perfect in Atlanta this time of year. Lows in the fiftys and highs in the seventys. Not much rain. Perfect weather for outdoor cooking. Not quite cold enough yet for smoking some cheese. Cant wait.

In the cold weather our Mak 2 Star generally runs 5 degrees cooler, slightly more pellet consumption. No Biggie. We cook the same meats on our grills no matter what time of year. Although we usually crank it up a bit for the holidays, Prime Ribs, Turkeys, Tur-Duck-en, ect.

Weather don't dictate what I cook at all.
If its raining I just wheel 390 into the porch area. If its going to snow..same thing.

Cold and wet for the next six or seven months here. Puts a hamper on my queuing habits. The lil tex don't like going any higher than about 360 right now. And the bear has been in the yard too much lately to think about leaving a butt or brisket out low and slow. One of the side effects of a dry sept and early oct is there are not many fish in the rivers, so the bears invade the neighborhood more than usual.

It's typical fall here in the PNW. Rain, some wind, a little frost when the clouds back off momentarily, rain, did I say rain? I stand in the patio door with the barrel as close to the house as possible without melting or scorching the house Wife does not appreciate the cold air and smoke rolling in the house. Gotta eat, right? We don't have the snow of the north or midwest, but I think it's harder Q'n in the rain. We trundle, or should I say slog on.....

We had our first snow of the season today... I am thinking this is going to be cold and snowy one this year. So far I haven't seen an affect on temps with the MAK.... But we are a long way from cold yet. I am looking forward to seeing how the MAK does with the -20's

Getting colder here already, I'm thinking we are in for a long hard winter (ugh). #855 is on my covered back patio so snow and rain do not really bother me.. the wind can be an issue though. Bundle up, adult beverage and cook on!

What weather? Just a little breeze from Sandy and a few scattered showers. Temp in low 80s daytime and sunny. Wish it would cool down a bit to see if affects pellet consumption on the Boonie.

you might need to take away the rock status..... need to amend my statement above to say "except in hurricanes"

combining my two obsessions.... kayak straps being used for grill storm prep

long island sound yesterday about 5pm - it was so "calm before the storm" , the few boats that were there when we went out were gone when we finished our paddle, some of the docks and portapotty had disappeared too....
