Im taking off at 10 and bringing Matt Dalton from Left Coast and Steph Franklin from simply marvelous to work the front line for a few days. WE have two complete rigs including the mobile command center....Tom Moore has my bps truck and meadow creek trailer unit and they deploy him deep into a different neighborhood everyday. They are using my comp trailer as a kitchen to serve in the heart too...we can keep 22 trays warm at a time so we will serve about 22,000 meals total....All in BPS will have 6 one the ground this week.

What they tell me is that in person it is much worse that you see on tv....If you can donate to operation bbq relief a great cause that has served 100,000 bbq meals in the last week

Cooks $1 feeds one person a great BBQ meal. Donate whatever you can. Mother Theresa one said if you can't feed 100 at least feed one. We donated last week and will donate again this week. I urge all our BBQ community to chip in what you can.

Same here. Takes only a minute to send them some money to help the effort.

We're with you there in Spirit, BP. Last week Kim and I were getting donations dropped, trucks loaded, etc. and manning the front here.. So glad you guys were able to step in and help. It's been HUGE. Will didn't call us to come down this week yet, so we're guessing there are bodies a plenty. I am seeing several folks that are posting about heading home, so maybe we'll get pulled into action down there yet.
I'm sure you met the guys from DesMoines that were down with some donated items, as well as Stephanie and September/Scott, etc.
I know Manuel P. was bring down some clamshells, etc.

The outpouring and support is amazing... and you are right, the devastation can't be described on a TV screen. Being out in the neighborhoods -- you see what is going on. When you're feeding the guy who is the handler for the cadaver dogs, and they block off the street, because it got a hit in a S&R sorty, well that surreal view into this work, and the sheer destruction from the event itself - hard to put into words or film to describe it.

It is quite the herculean effort to get all the stuff there, and then another herculean effort to get it cooked, served/distributed. Thanks for sharing your time, money and equipment and getting into the fray, BP. Truly great work.
