I want to congratulate Jamie Geer for winning one of BBQ's biggest majors, The Houston Livestock and Rodeo BBQ Championship. Having cooked it last year and doing pretty well I can tell you this is a very big accomplishment! OH yeah and he used Big Poppa Smokers Sweet Money! We now have been a part of winning all of the majors the last two years!

Congrats to Jamie and BP for the comp wins!

Quick question: I like trying new rubs and sauces, but I don't do comps...only a backyard smoker. There are many competition recipes and methods I wouldn't use on my BBQ for just me and my family/guests. I've seen great reviews from comp people for the BP rubs...but do backyard pitmasters like them too?

Sorry if I hijacked the thread, but thought this might be a good place to ask for you thoughts on this.

Yes, absolutely. The West Coast Offense roster of rubs are very backyard friendly.

Thanks scooter! Just to clarify...West Coast Offense means all the rubs/sauces available from BPS and Simply Marvelous? Do I have that right? The rubs that intrigue me most are BP's Money and Sweet Money.
