MAK 1 star Newbie-FlameZone grease pan?

I just received my MAK 1 star today and looking through the booklet under optional items and there is listed a FlameZone grease pan. I can't figure out what it's used for. It's kind of pricy.

It's a drip pan that allows for grilling over direct heat/flames. The price is because it's solid 304 stainless steel and includes shipping. I don't use it as much as the regular blank pan, but when I want to sear it does its job and does it well!
