Mak2 or Yoder

In the interest of full disclosure Scooter and I have been involved with the MAK folks for a long time. I have nothing bad to say about a Yoder as I have never seen one much less cooked on one. All I know is I don't know any other CEO's of a company that has called me and said "here is my cell phone number. Put it in your cell phone address book and call me if you have any problems or questions". Know what? I've called that number on more than one occasion and have yet to have Bob fail to answer or call me back if he was unavailable. I can attest that MAK products are top of the line. I'm sure Yoder builds a quality product as well but I can't think of a thing that would make me get rid of my MAK 2 Star(my second one btw) for a different brand.

What made me buy a MAK. (Hope to have it this month)

A few years ago now my neighbour showed me his Treager. I had to have one and that was how I got started. The first while I killed a lot of pork then I found site like this. A lot of folks have helped me and by learning from others posts I think I am getting better. My friend wore out his treager and picked up a Green Montian smoker, the service has been good but he spends a lot of time with the auger.

I tried to lean him towards a MAK but his choice.

I do not want a grill, I want a smoker. I have a gas unit for grilling. I want some size to be able to cook for friends and upmost temperature control. I believe MAK has the best unit out there.

I am also thinking about a YODER YS640 even though I like the cold smoker on the MAK2. have u ever had a flameout on the YODER on a long smoke 12/ 14 hours. The new cart for the Yoder is killer, have u seen that yet???

Haven't tried a MAK, but very happy with my Yoder YS1500. I love the capacity!
