My name is Ryan and I’m new to the forum. I just posted a question so I figured I should be polite and introduce myself. I have had a Trager Little Tex Elite for 9 months and I'm looking to upgrade. I am quickly becoming addicted to smoking.

Here are a few pics of my first ribs, brisket, and turkeys on my traeger Lil Tex. There is also a pic from the 4th of July when I did 2 tri-tips and some local caught salmon.

Welcome to the forum Ryan. I too started with a Little Tex and six months later had a MAK. When looking to upgrade take your time and do your homework well. Good luck and good smoking.

Hi Ryan,
I searched for three months. I actually have a spreadsheet comparing all the details of the top smokers. My two top choices were the Mak 2 star and the Rec Tec. I bought the Mak 2 star with a half upper grate to add to the cooking area and the griddle. The Rec Tec is larger and of course there are other differences. The Mak has a cold smoke/warmer box AND they are coming out with an app so you can control/monitor the Mak from where ever you are. I'd be happy to share my comparisons with you if you share your email.
