Need help with wheel upgrade for FEC 100

All casters have a designed mounting. Stem, plate etc. you need to determine what you have and the size of stem or plate . Then search the Internet for a caster sales store. Figure what your unit weighs and make sure you get casters that can handle double the weight at least . When casters are close to their capacity they roll harder. Consider where you will be rolling it and that will determine what the wheel should be made of. Get brakes on all four wheels.

If you are not afraid of a little metal work, The best thing to do is build a frame that goes all the way to the outside of the hopper, to widen the wheelbase. Putting taller pneumatic tires on the pit makes it easier to roll around, but also alot easier to tip over, since it's center of gravity is already too high. widening the wheel base makes big difference... if you can weld, you can actually cut about 6" off the legs and burn in the frame to the shortened legs, and you have a pit that will roll anywhere and never tip.

If you add bigger (taller) wheels, just watch it as the FEC100 is already top heavy, and that would make it worse. Like Andy said, if you can, cut the legs shorter, weld on new mounting plates, then put on your bigger wheels. Another option is to use 10" air filled wheels with an axle on two legs, and the stock wheels on the other two legs.

Any Metal Fabrication shop can do it. Pretty simple stuff. I would imagine prices will vary, so I would shop a couple of different places for bids. I'll see if I can't find some pics of my old cart. shoot me an email so I have a place to send them Z.
