New Pellet Smoker

Hello everyone. I'm happy to be here. I have a Fast Eddy PG500 Pellet Grill on back order. It's been 3 days , I am starting to relax a little now that they told me it's going to be about another 10 days before they ship it about. That's kinda good in a way :) , I was needing a break from thinking about it.
I will try not to ask too many questions.

Thank you Salmon. I do have a lot of thoughts bouncing around.

And I see you must smoke Salmon. I have only done one, I think I grilled it.Years ago. It was on my little Old Smokey grill.
So is cherry wood the way to go for salmon? Or with salmon being a great fish maybe it doesn't matter? I'm asking because I have not gone pellet shopping yet and I would like to smoke or grill some salmon : ) I guess I got off topic a little bit :p sorry.

Yes, quite a lot actually. About 250-300 lb/yr. I use about 70% Alder with minor additions of apple, cherry and/hickory. They all go well with salmon. Alder is the traditional native wood along the west coast from N. Cal. to Alaska. BBQ Delight doesn't make an Alder pellet because they'd have to ship the wood to their plant-from here probably. We're buried in Alder here. Bear Mountain uses Alder for their base wood. If you get their Alder pellets it's probably 100% Alder.
