Question about pellets flavors.
I have hickory pellets really like the taste.
Have charcoal pellets which I mix with the hickory 3/2 ratio on certain things like burgers & steaks.
I have peach pellets save them for my butt smoking.
I haven't tried any other kinds like the maple, oak , pecan. I don't like mesquite flavor at all so I mark them off my list.

So what of the other flavor you may have tried that works for you ? And do you mix your pellets?

Also #1 son got me a 50 dollar grift certificate from BP Smokers. Any suggestion on something that will go with pellet smoking accessory . Was looking at the knifes ( thoughts ) ... thanks HS

I have several flavors, but my standbys have become apple, Hickory & Black Walnut.

An Apple/Hickory blend (like Bear said) is great on pretty much anything.

I am really enjoying Black Walnut a lot. If you like hickory, you'll like Black Walnut, especially on quicker cooks where you want a lot of clean smoke flavor in a short time even at higher temps. Its great on tri-tip. Last week my wife breaded some pork steaks with corn flake crumbs and smoked them with black walnut and they were heavenly!

Oak mostly. Apple , peach and cherry I've always got on hand. Apple, cherry mix is awesome! I have a bunch of wine soaked oak too.

Right now it seems I'm using mesquite more than anything else. We love the strong flavor it gives smoked salmon. Especially when you blend in a little apple.

Thanks for ya'lls in put. I haven't used my peach pellets yet but may try mix them with the hickory. Before I got my MAK 1star from BP I cooked on a regular grill. I have a pecan tree and apple, cherry , plum and peach. All trimmings and branches that fell went into my bq stash ( wood pile ) I really never consider the flavor that much... it was more about fuel for the fire. But I'm learning now.. thanks again!
