Up here in the Northwest we don't get the BBQ love like a lot of other areas of the country. So I am excited that there is a KCBS event around here. I won't be competing, but I will be there on Sunday. If anyone else is going to be there I would love to say hi.

Lessons Learned

When you have a chance to go on the day that the competitors are cooking go. Think up whatever excuse you can to get out of your familial obligations and go. When I showed up today there were only four amateurs cooking. They were great to talk to, but I wish there had been more. I did get a chance to buy a pulled pork sandwich from yesterdays winning team. It was excellent. All in all a good day, but I really wanted to see the pros in action.
