Question about pellet usage per cook

Can you folks give me a hint on pellet usage that you have on your grills ?
For instance like if your smoking butts on a 10-12 hr cook aprox how many pounds would you use ?
Burgers and chickens and steaks is there a break down on these also?

Thanks

I average 1 pound per hour. Depends on the cooking and ambient temps... Some days more, some less.

A couple of weeks ago I cooked 2 pork butts. One friday night and the other one on saturday. Both on #63 w/ one 20 lb bag of pellets. Each cook took 12 to 14 hours @ 220 degrees.

It depends a lot on the temp you cook at, the ambient conditions (temp & wind), the pit used, and the pellets used (exp: 100% oak burns hotter than a oak/hickory mix). All of these will affect the consumption rate, but a pound per hour is a good starting point
