"Smoke" Temp A Little High...

Doing my first cook on the MAK2. At smoke, I'm at 190*, which seems a little high from what I've read. Should I be concerned? I was hoping for 170*. What do you think? Ambient is 80* and I'm in the shade.

That is normal, it will smoke anywhere from 165 to 195 but usually will average out around 170 once broken in real good :)

its been warm here were we live. you won't get the 170° range when its 90 here. is it in the shade or the sun? that has alot to do w/ it to.

In the shade the whole time. I've read that the controller is set between 170 and 190. Is there any way to change the smoke temp setting or will the Smoke temp really come down with use, as MAK Daddy states? I mean, is that something others have experienced?

Im not sure you are pretty funny
I gotta agree with BP. :)

You need to try to relax, stop worrying about mods and burning chunks in your MAK2 and the smoke temp settings for now until you have cooked on it more than once. It has a learning curve just like when you first got your Primo. We will all be happy to help you. You just need to take some time to get to know your new smoker/grill. You bought the best money can buy.

Yeah...I do get a little ahead of myself at times. That said, I've been cooking on a pellet smoker for a couple of years prior to this, so I'm somewhat aware of issues that can arise with them. However, I've never cooked on a MAK and you all have, so I'll try to chill and enjoy. Hope you don't mind my questions though...if I had neighbors or friends with MAKs, I'd be asking them, but I don't, so you're it! Thanks for the help!
