I planned to cook a couple of nice lobster tails on the MAK tonight for our Valentine's Day dinner. However, it didn't happen. The igniter shorted out and kept tripping the GFI. Called MAK Daddy and talked to him. I have a new igniter coming.
Had to go to Plan B. I ended up steaming the lobster tails. They were about 14 ounces, each. Served with drawn garlic butter, French bread, and a bottle of Proseco. For dessert I served Pepcid AC. Really rich dinner, but good.
OM when you have an igniter issue it doesnt mean you cant smoke. If you have those little firstarters they work...anything to get the first couple of pellets started....I use paper towels soaked in olive oil...whiskey soaked pellets...tiny chunk of a match light briquette...With the paper towel and olive oil you have to have the cooker off otherwise the fan blows he paper out....if you have tripping gfi issues unplug the igniter and then you are good to go.
