How to season a Grill Grate?

Sorry for the newbie question... Tried my brand-spanking-new Grill Grate with some burgers last night, and like a dummy I didn't even think to spray pam or anything on it - so the burgers stuck pretty badly. I'm guess these things will season with use, but is there anything in particular one should do to prepare them?

two things Pam is your friend...but the grill grates will tell you when to turn the meat....it releases....so put the spatula below and lift lightly if it feels glues wait another 30 seconds or so....The other point is that cooking seasons them..Some people scrub them....toprch them...put them in their self cleaning oven....and others just let it build up with smoking gunk....perfection is somewhere inbetween...they like seasoning but if you let them go too far it gets harder to get the right sear marks

BTW - mixed in a little Big Poppa's Steak Rub (which I got along with the grates from your store) with the burger meat, yummy!
