The tri-tip is foiled up tight and resting in a crock pot... The standard 'cook to medium and slice against the grain' hasn't been well received around here...


Similar experience here. Slicing thin takes too long and it gets cold too quickly. The family didn't care for it. We started slicing it into thick 1"+ slices and eating it like steaks and the family totally loves it! It's my daughter's favorite steak if sliced that way.
