MAK brand pellets

I tried the MAK branded pellets that came with my new 2 star. I've used a number of different types of pellets over the years, but I really like these and would really like to order some more. I began putting in an order today but had to stop when I hit the shipping page. $36 for shipping makes for some pricey pellets. Anybody know how to get some another way? BP? Quantity?

shipping a few 20lb bags UPS ground isn't very cost effective.

I would like to know general proportion of the different hard woods in the pellets. I have used them and do enjoy them. Very nice all around pellet.

That information tends to be proprietary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

industry standard is 2/3 base wood...east of the rockies it is OAK west of the rockies and more specifically the pacific northwest it is alder
1/3 flavor wood

Secret goodness :) Its a blend of Hazelnut, Cherry, and Alder.

From what I have found (just like all manufacturing) the quality control of the process from procurement all the way through to the bag is what separates the pellet companies. Clean woods, proper drying and size control are some big keys for producing consistent BBQ Pellets.
