Newbee to pellet smokers

Hi everyone! My name is Mojak!

I've been BBQin' for 30+ years using an offset charcoal smoker w/ chips/chunks and and an electric/ chips water smoker before that. So I'm not new to the discipline. I am however new to pellets and am about to pull the trigger on a Pellet smoker. Initially I ordered a Traeger but read about so many issues people have had with them I canceled it. I am looking at the Yoder, Maks and a couple of others which I understand are very high quality/ robust units.

Welcome to PS.com Mike! I bought a Lil Tex in Aug 2009 then 4 months later MAK released their 2 Star line. I bought the 3rd one off the line and have used it almost every week since and it's still crankin out awesome stuff!
