Reading temp setting

I have a Louisiana CS 450 and the temp on the lid guage is about 25 degrees off from temp on the key pad setting. What do you advise as far as temp control.

Assuming the lid temp gauge is analog and the controller is digital and assuming the temp difference is that the lid gauge is 25F higher than the controller thermocoupler reading..... I would say they are about correct. I have an lower and upper rack in my MAK at all times. I have a digital probe on the upper rack and the thermocoupler is on the lower rack in the corner. They are approx 15F-20F off from each other with the higher temp always on the upper rack.
