Smoked Turkey

I'm going to try my first turkey tomorrow. What wood do people recommend. I was thinking either oak-cherry or oak-maple.

apple - cherry or oak - cherry work great on chicken. In the past I have done spatchcock turkey on straight apple and have had great results. This Thanksgiving I will be using apple - cherry on the bird and the dressing. The addition of cherry seems to help with a darker color.

I totally agree with Red, Apple is my favorite and Cherry is great too. Apple, Cherry or a blend will give a beautiful color as well.
