I have the ThermoWorks TR362B cooking thermometer that I picked up to go with my Lil Tex. I've put the probe into the meat, and set the temperature (135) for the tri tip. The internal food temperature still reads just "Hi" though instead of showing a true temperature. Any ideas?

When my MAK probes have read "HIGH" it is because they have failed. Temp probes can and do fail sometimes.
You might want to visit the ThermoWorks website and see if they have a support section or maybe an FAQ that deals with the probes. Have you read the manual (if it comes with one)? They might have some info there. Might need to wait until Monday and give them a call.
