Christmas wish list

Walking in the mall today and saw all the Holiday decorations are up and thought. What would a PelletSmoking member add to their list.
I will suggest if you don't have a good knife sharpner to add the Edge pro Apex2 kit to the list.
Frogmats are always good. I know mine are well used.

What are some other ideas?

I would like an instant read thermometer. That's all I can think of right now..

I am wanting another set of GrillGrates and some more pellets. My wife gave me a few presents early...a new blue OTG and the Weber Gourmet BBQ System grate with sear grate and another set of ManGrates.

Right now I am happy with the collection BBQ & meat processing equipment I have, so I guess what's on my list is maybe a decent knife sharpener & an outdoor storage shed just for the grills & grilling equipment. I am out of room in the garage!

One other NON-BBQ related item on my wish list: The complete set of "Lord of the Rings" on Blue-Ray.

Send me a dull knife and I will sharpen it on the Apex and send it back. You will add the Apex to your list!

I was hoping that the 4 star general would be out in time for Christmas. But I guess that I would have needed a bigger Christmas tree. ;} I could always use gift certificates for BP's. Oh, the trouble I could get in.:)

1) electric smoker (want to try something new)

2) sausage making kit (and a good book or two to guide me)

3) more pellets. always more pellets. got to get the maks happy. a happy mak is a good mak. :)

4) i have always wanted a thermapen. don't know if i need on? i have a $20 thinging to measure meat. it works.

5) gift cert from butcher or costco. both would be nice. ;)

6) see #3 above.

7) a happy, unstressed wife during the holidays. i say just give the kids money. thats all they want. the relatives, they can come to my house. they don't have no smokers.

I have had a thermapen for 8 months and definately needed for whoever does not have one (sparky).
I just got a Maverick ET-732 last week on sale and it sure is nice to see where my grill temp really is at.
So on to my Christmast list. I have only one item and that would be a MAK which is coming home baby. :)

I would recommend the Apex system, too. I sharpened four knives for my brother-in-law and his wife last Tuesday evening. On one of them I couldn't really tell which side was supposed to be the sharp side it was so bad. It took some time, but they now have four sharp knives to use in the kitchen. I had to work extra on one that had been used to chop (like an axe) something that put a big ding in the blade. When you go from non-sharp knives to really sharp knoves you need to be careful. This is a must in every kitchen, IMO.

The only things I can think of for my Christmas list would have to do with my MAK. Maybe a pair of split grills to make it easier to clean them in the sink. The remote Pellet Boss would be a nice addition now that it is getting colder. I may "need" to add a few more spices to my burgeoning collection. Probably another case of Annie's Roasted Garlic EVOO. In general, anything related to cooking.

I have asked for a remote pellet boss and a marinade express. I set the bar high, but you have to start somewhere!

The Cabela's CG-15 Vacuum Sealer is probably one of the best and most used tools in my arsenal. Ask Santa for the CG-15 and enjoy your leftovers and savings on meat sales.

I have to say Cal Smoker is dead on also. I bought a Weston Pro 2300 that makes the CG-15 a couple months ago for $299 and it rocks.
I replaced my old Food Saver and there is such a huge difference. The seals are a 1/4 inch thick and the pump is awesome.
I highly recommend the Weston/Cabella's high end sealer.

Do they use standard food saver bag? I have been using foodsaver for years, but have found they lose there seal sometimes.
