Been looking for a while tying to determine what was the right grill for me. Finally decided on the mak 1! Fom all the great reviews i have seen on this site. And the wife picked it up for the other day without me knowing! Never smoked anything but love good smoked bbq. Going through the burn in right now and can't wait for dinner. Still trying to decide what to make... Exited! Looking forward to learning this new skill.

I'm relatively new to this site. Do I dare ask what Pig Candy is? I'm also in the process of buying a MAK 2 grill, hopefully in the Spring, and thinking that I should also follow suit.
I don't want to spread any bad Karma

pig candy = 1lb of bacon and some rub on it. rub = brown sugar, cayenne & ginger. i like this rub for my pig candy. its really good. and, since it taste so good you don't feel guilty about eating a 1lb of bacon. get bigger pants partner. your going to need them. :)

no bad karma here. ppl are very friendly here and full of knowlledge. we got alot of comp cooks on the forum too. they cook brisket, pork butt, ribs and chicken very well. they don't know how to cook fish though. lol......

Ended up running out of time as i spent too much time on here looking at the wonderful food everyone is making. Now I have to get rid of the bad mojo. Wife had chicken brest out so tossed them on, little salty, but moisture was awesome. A sin but she is allergic to pork. On the up side I get to cook pork for the kids and myself and beef or chicken for the wife = more food for me!

Pig candy wll be on shortly for the kids and I. Going to the store once I get the daughter off to school.

Welcome 160. I am 164 and just delighted. Also, my wife was the impetus to make this happen. Have fun.
