i have one and absolutely love it. her name is Hazel. she is a hasty bake gourmet model. sparky style, no glass. she's great. nice and big w/ a top shelf on her. the rotisserie is cool. i have done chickens, ribs and fish w/ my rotisserie. its a great grill. i love lump. she holds temp of whatever you want for the longest time. i have held a temp of 250° for 3 - 4 hours. thats pretty cool. she is a tri tip cooking fool. i sear mine first then put it off to the side until it comes to temp of 140°. perfect everytime. chicken. oh my. love it on Hazel. vege's too. i love Hazel. i'm thinking of getting another one. been thinking of getting a hasty bake ranger for in the back by the pool. my maks hate me. i can live w/ it. i only really only cooking ribs, butts and big beef chunks on my mak now a days. get one from BPS. get customer service. BP, you have my address to send commission check too. or just send bags of lump and bottles of money. lol.....
Have had a gourmet for about a year and it has been a phenomenal cooker-
It's a great compliment for the pellet cooker. For me while the pellet cooker is damn near perfect there is just something about lighting up some lump and burning meat the old fashioned way. Besides you can never have too many toys right?
A few things that really stand out with the Hasty Bake- Just look at it, it's like a classic car sitting on your patio, timeless design that just works, The adjustable fire which allows it to cook like a Santa Maria style grill, ash pan makes clean up a breeze, Rotisserie option make killer chicken, the lid- great especially when its a little windy, you can cook open with a basically a wind shield. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one in a heartbeat, they are worth every penny.
I have 3 gourmets.....one on the comp trailer...a ranger and just sold my stainless suburban...Spark instead of the ranger which is really cool and fun for a traveler get a legacy or suburban...they have the same adjustable fire tray....the ranger is tricky to use....
I like the Gourmet the best. I am a unabashed Hasty Bake fan. Same basic design since 1948

ty for the tip. i remember now at the cameron park comp you telling me the ranger is tricky to use the lift. i will probably get the legacy. i like the size of Hazel. lot of room to cook stuff. i'm glad i listened to ya and got the bigger model. once again ya steered me right. thanks partner.
