Now that I have a good cold cooking buddy maybe I will cook more. I have been trying to keep it clean and pretty. Keep hearing a clean grill is a happy grill.

Better food off a seasoned or cleaned grill?

I've been trying to keep mine clean but with the new retro fit coming in tomorrow this might change. My wife is a neat freak so if she see's it to dirty she might not eat off it. We'll see. Taste wise I think a clean grill is better. You get the taste of what your cooking today instead of yesterday. Just my opinion. I'm sure you will hear many more.Cast iron needs to be seasoned...SS not so much.

New one gallon paint cans. When it gets full place the lid on and into the trash. Replace with a new paint can.

Definatly need to be used more. Still learning and when I don't cook on it I sure start feeling like something is wrong. Gone from 5am to 9pm 4 days a week with work so time is limited. Try and cook 1 big meal that lasts all week for lunch and dinner. But those kids aren't leaving me much for left overs. Is it too young to kick them out at 5 years old....Love those buggers.

Boulevard Pale Ale is another great one.... :) And what is wrong with foiling your bucket?!?! hmmm?

Nothing at all. I am somewhat of a clean nerd where my pit is concerned and use similar tactics to make it easier to keep it clean like foiling the drip pan and the drip bucket. I admire all who take steps to keep their pits clean (something I do myself). Was poking fun at Sparky who appreciates a pit that looks "used" or as I call it, dirty. Was pointing out to Spark the foiled bucket as a probable indicator the owner is someone who likes to keep their pit looking new and will resist his cordial advice to let the MAK get dirty or in Star Wars jargon, trying to turn the owner to the dark side of zero, or near zero, pit maintenance. :)
Was only joking and poking fun at my bud Sparky. He and I take polar opposite approaches to pit maintenance.
