I am a newb to pellet smoking and I am shopping for my first pellet smoker. I would appreciate any advice anyone is willing to give on the subject. Currently I am looking at the gmg bowie and the traeger texas. I was pretty set on the texas but the more I read about the traeger the more I am not so sure. I'm looking to stay in the $1000 range so if you know of any other good options in that price range please share.

The MAK 1 Star is $1299 with white glove delivery, no other fees (unless you live in CA). If you can stretch your budget that far that would be my vote!

That pretty much sums up what I was thinking! Most grills do not ship free. By the time you spend the $1,000 and most likely add shipping, you might as well get the MAK 1 Star. And I know one thing, with the quality and optional upgrades available, you sure won't regret doing so!

TH makes a good point. When I bought my Memphis the price included free shipping. Unless you have a local dealer the GMG will be up there in the $1000 range after shipping.
When I was looking for a new pellet smoker I had my choices narrowed down between a MAK 1 star and a Memphis select. Either one is a great choice IMHO.

1 Star is awesome. I was looking at same two but this site changed my mind, for the better. Love it.
